Vascular Plant Inventory
of the
Conyers, Georgia, U.S.A.
Edition of September 30, 2014
Notes
1. The names of plants considered native to the Monastery's 2000+ acres are distinguished in bold type.
2. The sequence of orders and families, virtually all of the botanical nomenclature, and most of the common names are borrowed from Alan S. Weakley's Flora of the Southern and Mid-Atlantic States, available online from the Herbarium of the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, at http://www.herbarium.unc.edu/FloraArchives/WeakleyFlora_2012-Nov.pdf.
3. The names of those plants that are (or were) in cultivation and not regarded as freely self-reproducing are, in general, omitted. The names of the relative few that have been documented with photographs are listed {but enclosed within curving brackets}. Some of these may eventually exhibit some level of sexual reproduction, such as bald cypress and overcup oak (both planted for wetland "restoration").
